I’ve recently finished “Lilith’s Brood: The Complete Xenogenesis Trilogy” by Octavia Butler. I’ve been meaning to post something about these books since a friend posted about its author last month, but I kept putting it off.
I had fun with this book. It’s a cool story with an interesting mix of sci-fi and magic set in an interesting world.
It starts off kinda slow, but now I’m definitely going to listen to the entire trilogy. I really dig that book is fairly dark, but the main characters still feel heroic. By the end I found myself finding excuses to keep listening, which is always a good thing.
A good story, but it feels like two independent stories rather than I cohesive whole. Both of the stories are interesting though, so I’ll pick up the rest of the series again at some point.
This was more of an audio play than a book.
All in all, this was a very engaging listen.
